Thea Oberholzer was born and raised in South Africa. Directly out of university, she started lecturing and has, through the years, become a Master in her fields of expertise. In 1989 she obtained her Masters Degree in General Theory of Language and Literature and Speech and Oral Interpretation and she also acquired a TEFL Certificate in 1998. She has been teaching for 13 years, 6 of them in Asia.

Her specialty includes writing classes, public speaking and presentation skills, goal setting, time-management, motivational and assertiveness skills, media training and public relations. She enjoys advanced adult education for professionals and has designed and compiled syllabi for academic institutions.

Thea is an experienced, well-educated teacher with excellent work ethics. She is well read and traveled and can converse on a wide variety of topics. She has a passion for her work and takes an interest in her students. She teaches with a high level of energy and uses modern teaching techniques that produce long-term results. She is resourceful, creative and adaptable and always tries to accommodate her students' needs without compromising the integrity of her work. She is fully bilingual and comes from a multilingual background, which uniquely qualifies her to identify and solve problems that arise when learning a new language. She has a holistic approach to the learning of language and, in addition to this, believes that to be conversant in an international language empowers the individual.
